Bloxels, Talent Box, Student Support, Makecode Adafruit

Bloxels Edu- It is about building your own video games and telling a story. Each block represents in-game interactions - pink block is for powerups, the green represents terrain that you walk on, blue is for water, orange is for the exploding block and purple for enemy blocks. It's all laid out on a 13X13 cubed board which is the real-life copy of the digital game.

There is a free Star Wars app that goes along with it that contains premade games and modes. Mr.Wong played for a little bit and it seemed fun so I gave it a run through and had a blast. The purple enemy blocks were one of the most interesting. If it was placed in the air than it will fly around and be an enemy that does damage (Bat) and if it is placed on a green terrain it will walk around and you have to jump it or shoot it to destroy it.

Talent Box- Mr.Wong added us to tracks on the website Talent Box. He put me into 3D Design and Printing to start and also gave me the option for 2D Video Game Design and 3D Video Game Design. Each track has quests that we must complete. We start with basic shapes, characters, connectors, and circuits. Matt and I made a "Devils Keychain" made out of a stretched cube and a torus ring. It was a generally easy project and we will explore more. Once we figure out how to change from a perspective view and orthographic which helps distinguish 3D and 2D with a birdseye view.

Student Support

Two girls had trouble entering the common app site and was getting a completely blank, frozen screen. We tested to see if we were going to have the same issues on an Ipad and Mac. We believed that the site was the issue at first because we have a slow load, but worked after some time. We ruled that out as an issue. We restarted the girls Ipad and started to update it to the newest software.

Makecode Adafruit

We began working with the Adafruit and went to the Makecode Adafruit website run by Microsoft. The code is written in Javascript or it's a drag and drop format. We downloaded our red, white and blue color program and located it in finder before using.....Turns out our Circuit playground disk was not working and we needed to swap them out. After getting our new disk we dragged our program into the "CPLAYBOOT" in Finder and our pattern was lit up.
