Maker Studio, Fun with programing, Drop Mix, Garage band and IOS13

Programming

This week our class furthered our knowledge on programming. We viewed program created, artwork and graphics. We also explored games that were made out of basic coding. Although the games were very difficult it was definitely rewarding in a fun way.

Maker Studio

I was tasked to create a sonic postcard of a memory for english class. A sonic Postcard is basically an image with sound effects and a dialog to capture the audience and provide a message.

This gave me the idea to use the Maker lab which is next to the Helpdesk room. It was a perfect time to go in and explore all of the microphones, sound proof room and other features the room holds. At first I just stared at wires and inputs but once I gathered all of the tools that I believed would help me, I started testing them. After the first day I only had the ground work done and needed to put the pieces together....Day two was the dirty work. making sure each and every sound effect matched the audio. I had trouble bringing the voice that was recorded to my Imovie to where the sound effects were held. Mr.Wong helped me transfer the audio into Itunes and then input it in..... Afterwards exporting it to my english teacher was difficult. It took many tries but after realizing that i over thought I uploaded it directly to classroom as a file.

Drop Mix music freestyle

I helped the rest of the class use the music mixer device that consists of a speaker, ipad, electronic cards and card table that responds to the writing on the cards by making music. Mr.Wong taught me how to use this last year with my friends kebab so i had a good understanding of how it worked. I let the rest of the students experiment as I sat back and watched but as it started with nonsense but after explain that they need to wipe the board and base the music and tones off the song you chose. since then they have been creating an equalized, harmonic tunes and remixes. Im writing this now as its been happening and it's still consistently getting better.

Thoughts:

Mr.Wong likes the idea and thinks it would be more popular if it was less expensive.

Tyler believed there was a market for it with most people who enjoy music.

Kevin didn't believe the money was worth such an invention while other programs such as garageband existe and have more to offer and is easily accessible.

Garage Band On Ipad

Mr.Wong ran us through Rock and Roll, Hip-Hop, and EDM music. Most of the class decided that Hip-Hop sounded the best. *Fun fact Mr.Wong plays Guitar Mr.Wong then plays the Guitar through a different part of the garage band app. It has many features to alter the audio and many different instruments.

IOS13

Darkmode, pairing two seperate airpods and the new volume adjust while watching videos are some of the favorite features. A new Arcade subscription was made available its 5 dollars a month, a whole family can use it and also transfers over to a mac if you have one. It's like the App Store but I am not exactly sure what the difference is. When the IOS13 became available the wifi crashed and became very slow.
